You know that feeling when you're scrolling through the RED blogs during your free time, not liking, not commenting, not sharing, just quietly viewing and reading from the sidelines? In Ugandan social media lingo, that's called being in kamooli. And believe me, I've seen more agents hiding in kamooli than I can count.
Tonny Kalule, one of the top real estate agents in Mukono, was like that for a long time. He would read every blog, every article, every tip I posted. Silent. No likes, no comments, no shares. Just soaking it in and learning. But then something happened. He stumbled on one of my motivational pieces titled YOU ARE NOT ALONE AS A REAL ESTATE AGENT, I AM HERE WITH YOU. That one hit him differently. It pulled him out of kamooli. He then posted a message and reffered to my blogs as inspirational. And I'll be honest, that meant the world to me.
Now here's the thing. I know Tonny's not alone. I see the numbers. The clicks. The registrations. The stats don't lie. Agents are reading. Buyers are reading. Investors are reading. The Real Estate Database (RED) is buzzing with serious real estate traffic. But you know what's missing? Your engagement and viral support.
Reading without sharing is like listing without photos.
Think about it. If you list a prime bungalow in Kira without uploading pictures, would you expect buyers to take it seriously? Of course not. Silence online works the same way. When you read a blog that educates you, or entertains you, and you don't share it, you've missed an opportunity to build your brand and social media profile. Sharing is visibility. Visibility is credibility. Credibility drives deals. Isn't that what every agent is chasing?
So, here's my request. Don't just read in kamooli. Hit that "comment and share" button at the bottom of each of my blogs. Share it in five WhatsApp groups. Add it to your WhatsApp status. Forward it to a client who's been on the fence and needs to be educated too. It's that simple. You're not just boosting me, you're boosting yourself or your profile using my content.
What's the worst that could happen if you shared?
Let's get real. When you share content that's educative, inspirational, or even just entertaining, three things happen:

You position yourself as the agent who's always in the know.

You attract new leads without begging.

You ride on the RED content wave, where every visit to your status or profile is a potential deal.
I've seen it firsthand. Agents who consistently share market insights from the Real Estate Database (RED) end up with more WhatsApp engagements. They're the ones whose names stick in buyers' heads. They're the ones landlords call when it's time to let go of that apartment in Ntinda or the mansion in Entebbe.
Are you hiding in kamooli too?
If you're nodding quietly right now, you know what that means. It's you. You're reading this, finding it useful, but planning to move on without leaving a trace. But let me ask, how many deals have you missed by staying silent and not sharing any content? How many buyers could have found you if they saw your name attached to an insightful blog?
